Statement
My work is about observation, reflection and understanding within the context of human relationships. I am drawn to the exquisite labor that goes into cultivating self-awareness versus one’s natural inclination to look outward to avoid internal analysis. I use my work to begin a conversation with viewers, at least subconsciously, about issues like generosity, kindness, humor, grief, and fear. My goal is to lure my viewer into a state of quiet reflection, if only for a moment, using subjects which are both personal and universal. By maintaining a quality of elegance and refinement, I allow my viewer time to sit with even the most uncomfortable subjects without feeling repelled. Color is always a principal element and is delivered with subtlety and intention.
